I understand what you mean. So, our advice would be to not adjust the number of votes, or, if you really have to, you can always say (I doubt they would question it though) that these votes came from internal voting, not public voting.
You can now simply modify your vote count for each post by going to the admin box -> options -> select 'Change vote count' -> modify the number -> hit save 🙌
