Search & Tag Filters confusing

I like the new dashboard, but the search and tag filters are pretty confusing.
Both fields have a 'Search' placeholder, I keep typing my search query in the tag filters bar.
It would make more sense to use a single search bar that includes the tags (like Gmail) or make the tags filters more distict, eg a clickable tag cloud or a dropdown from which you can select the tags.

Another note, the search field is inconsistent with other parts of the app, making it all seem a bit messy :)
